allichatonI just looked up the definition of "pornography" in the Oxford English Dictionary, because I was talking in chat about erotica vs. pornography, and it occurred to me that one of these days, I'm going to have to support my "Erotica is not pornography" claim. According to the OED, pornography originally referred to a description of the life, manners, etc of prostitutes and their patrons.
This means that technically, the book that I read in my anthro class (Travesti: Sex, Gender, and Culture Among Brazilian Transgendered Prostitutes) is pornography.
