Ugghh...this started yesterday, and now it's gotten worse. My throat is killing me. It feels like someone raked the back of my throat with the tines of a fork. And, as Eric said last night, this appears to be a "dormidemic"--a lot of people I know in Shadowfax are getting it, and they're probably where I got it from.

*siiiigh* I'd kill for a throat lozenge right now...

*hugs*

Sore throats suck. Check out your campus bookstore (or convenience store, dunno what your college has); you can get sore throat lozenges there. You might have to wait in long lines, though, because my experience was that people would be buying books for their classes on the first day or sometime that same week. (I tended to get them as soon as possible so I didn't have to wait through long lines. :)

If you're willing to try homeopathic remedies at all, what gets rid of sore throats better than anything else for me is lycopodium clav.--a local health food store should probably carry homeopathic medicine, you can find it online if not. Also, Hyland's has a good homeopathic sore throat formula too. (I hate sore throats and have a tendency to remain grouchy, unspeaking, and miserable until they go away, usually constantly sucking a throat lozenge. It's not unknown for me to go through a bag of the fuckers in a few days. These homeopathics are the only things that ever do anything to heal a sore throat in a reasonable time; ie, less than 24 hours. However, it's a tossup how they'd affect you. Everyone in my family reacts well to them, but they didn't seem to do anything for Robert when he had one. *shrugs*)

In the meantime, see if you have any green tea on campus. (I know you went down and made tea in the kitchen the other night.) Make it strong (about two teabags) with lots of honey, and this should help with your sore throat. If you can find (probably offcampus, but this is California, and they might have it) Yogi Cat's Claw Kombucha green tea, this is the best green tea I've ever had for colds. Also happens to taste a hell of a lot better than any other green tea I've ever had. (And I've had lots. I'm a green tea nut. :)

***HUGS*** Feel better, kitten!
